![]() So what really is the MOCA controller? The DVR or the gateway? Telephone support is useless in this, they have no idea what I am talking about. But if not, I think I may need to add a MOCA bridge so I can keep the gateway in bridge mode and not jeopardize the existing network. ![]() So my specific question is, will the mini X1 boxes still be able to connect to the DVRs over the coax if I leave this in bridge mode? Some answers imply that the DVR makes it's own MOCA, and it's independent of the gateway. I cannot take the gateway out of bridge mode, it breaks the network, and I must have that router in place for VPN access. This setup works fine, but my concern is that when I convert to Comcast X1 boxes, that the mini boxes (I can't fit full -sized behind every TV like I did with the TiVos). ![]() However, I have a complete network installation in the house: commercial grade router, switches, and access points. I am a integrator, and I have a customer who has TiVo, and he hates it and wants to replace the TiVo boxes with X1. This is an old thread, but I want to be certain it answers my questions, it seems somewhat uncertain. MoCA has been subsequently adopted in clinical settings around the world and is widely used as a scale in academic and non-academic research. While I still have some really sold speeds, the issue I'm facing right now is some big latency spikes, this I would love to reduce. MoCAalso known as Montreal Cognitive Assessment or The MoCA Testwas validated as a highly sensitive tool for early detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in 2000. I, based on my limited understanding of MoCA, am having to run my Xfinity modem in router mode, NOT bridge mode which I would like since I want to specify my DNS settings (I run pi-hole on my network) and I don't want to go through and specify manually the DNS settings on each device that I want. The two issues that I have with this configuration is that: I've got MoCA all running throughout the house so I wanted to direct connect to my PC, which I have and am getting some really positive numbers. The primary router and Xfinity modem are downstairs on the first level, my office (work from home) is on the second level. The primary issue is that while I do have a pretty robust mesh network configured, it just doesn't allow for very low latency or for the speeds I'm needing (pay for 250, normally get 7-30 on the mesh AP's). When everything is connected correctly, and there is internet connection flowing through both MoCa adapters, the Link lights will be on.For whatever reason, the geniuses that built this house (less than 10 years old) never ran ethernet cabling. If the device uses a coaxial cable, you can also connect a cable between the Device port on the MoCa adapter and the device.
